It's about discovering and engaging with what is happening right in the place that matters most to you, your city, your block, your dorm, class or place of work. It s dead-simple to use, too. Just create a ledge by giving it a name, description, keywords and radius. The radius will determine how many people will see your ledge, and can be set anywhere from 20-feet to 20-miles. Then choose whether you want to make the ledge public, private or protected (depending on who you want to see it). Public and protected ledges will stay up for 24 hours while private ledges will stay up till deleted by the owner. These are secret hidden Ledges for people you want to have a private conversation with. You ll have complete control over the ledges you create, including who can subscribe and reply. You can even ban users for inappropriate behavior. Don t want or need to create a ledge? That s okay. Instead, you can search for ledges you re interested in. When a new message comes in you ll receive a notification. But don t worry; you ll never be bombarded with 100s of notifications. You ll receive only one notification for each Ledge you subscribe to till you are ready to re-engage in the conversation. - If you are not logged-in the iOS appstore app, you'll be prompted for your your Apple ID and/or password.
- After LocalLedge is downloaded, you'll see an INSTALL button to the right. Tap on it to start the actual installation of the iOS app.
- Once installation is finished you can tap on the OPEN button to start it. Its icon will also be added to your device home screen.
